Doctor’s Visits and Jelly Beans

Today I’ve had my weekly doctor’s appointment again. In the same building where the doctor is, there is a small Clicks/Clicks Pharmacy. Handy to have around, ‘coz I sometimes pop in there on my way out to pick up a gift for someone. The weekly doctor’s appointment is rather boring, but necessary. My blood pressure gets taken: first I have to sit and a reading is taken. Then I have to stand and after two minutes another reading is taken. And then the blood pressure is taken again. Then it’s back to the waiting room to wait to see the doctor. And after seeing the doctor, it’s back to the waiting room again to wait for my medication. Some times I have to have blood taken too. And on the odd occasion an ECG is done.
As of late, I came in to the habit of walking in to the Clicks after my visit and buy myself a small packet of jelly beans. I’m not a big on eating sweets, but I do like the jelly beans. A treat to myself. And the healthier sweets to eat. I like the blue, red and black colours the best.
If you don’t make life a bit more interesting or nicer for yourself, nobody else is going to do it for you. We don’t always need big and expensive things to cheer us when we’re blue. Something simple like a packet of jelly beans can put a ray of sunshine in your life. And a bit of sunshine is what we all need.
