And then it was Sunday

I'm in the process of packing all my purchases for my grandchildren - thank heavens for these vacuum bags. The huge Woollie bags which were stuffed like oversized pillowcases were neatly packed into these bags and vacuum sealed into a 1/3 of the size (at least). Another 2 of these to go!

Last night we went to a Barmitzvah in Johannesburg. The theme was Harley Davidson bikes etc. As we arrived, so 12 Harley's were driven up to the reception by a group of Hells' Angels and their chickies and the barmie boy riding pillion on one.

The decor of the hall was (rather obviously) all things Harley/Bike ..whatever. Some of our local bloggers would have appreciated this far more than me. Nonetheless, I took photos which weren't good at all, as the flash on my Blackberry is much too bright and most of the pictures were over-exposed. Without the flash, they were just too dark.
These though should give the idea of the black crushed velved tablecloths with the silver and black decor. The serviette rings were studded leather wrist bracelets.

I am absolutely disgusted with tweeny children of today: 11, 12 and 13's. (With older teenagers too, but that's a subject for another day). These human animals descended on the tables like a hoard of angry cockroaches, filching other people's party favours (wrist bands) off the serviettes. They haven't yet been taught manners? To go to their own table and take their own (only). I stopped many of them at our table before other guests arrived. And they were shocked that these belonged to other people. It was like "oh okay, duh why didn't I think of that!" This past week I've been talking about the lack of manners and courtesy amongst the youngsters of today. Are parents oblivious? Do they not know how to teach their children to be polite? I happened to mention it to Doron just now and he said these kids are the offspring of the "naughty little sh*ts" we dealt with when he was that age. But I think it's more than that, I think it's just easier for parents to let their kids do what they like, with no structure or recourse, because it's extremely hardwork to discipline and "grow" children 'nicely'.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, I need to get back to my Ostrich Egg decorating!

Oh.. and Arkenaton the Fair 'O' - thank you for the mention dearheart :) Also do take a few minutes to read his post on AIDS.
