Conscious Massage Month

 

We are dedicating May to Massage, culminating in an internationally-linked event of Conscious and Intention Touch on the 27th.

 

Massage is one of the most beautiful and powerful ways to experience sexual energy, sensuality and its beauty and power.

There are so many levels of experience, of sensation, of healing, of release, of love, of connection, of discovery, of energy and possibility through this touch.

 

Conscious Sensual Massage is a celebration of beauty, of the body, of the being. It comes from the Heart, to your heart, to your body, reaches deep inside you to touch your soul.

As your body relaxes deeply, the blocked energy, which we all have to a lesser or greater degree, begins to flow.

Tension is released in the body, the mind quietens and in this space of gentleness, we are able to let go of that stored deep within us.

The hurts, the guilt, the shame, the embarrassment, the anxieties, the burning pain of so much of the past, so much of what has been done to us, so much of what we’ve done, what we’ve allowed, what we’ve consented to.

 

It sits in our body, all of it.

It holds us.

Tight, deep, locked in patterns that keep us trapped.

 

The safety of Conscious Sensuality allows us to release, to heal, to feel, and to go beyond, to heightened states of pleasure, to directly experience the energy, the connection between sexuality and spirituality.

 

Safety means that every element of the massage experience is for you.

For women particularly, this is just so important.

So often there is an expectation of reciprocation, more so in a pleasure space than any other. Often, pleasure is given purely for the knowledge that even a little pleasure, in whatever way that happens, is only because of what will be given back.

This makes it difficult for many women to fully let go into the pleasure, knowing that the space is loaded.

This is one of the reasons there are times women turn down sex. They’d love the pleasure. But want it to happen in the way they would like, and to be able to let go enough, with enough safety, to say that this is just for me.

 

The massage space makes this possible. Which is one of the aspects that make Conscious Sexual or Sensual Massage such a deep experience.

It gives a different context to pleasure.

Communication

 

Everything we do is in some way an act of communication.

Every thought, word, action, touch, everything is a communication.

We’re communicating all the time, with ourselves, many levels and aspects of the self, with people, one, a few, many, the world.

 

Sex and lovemaking is an act of communication that involves more of ourselves than any other.

It involves our bodies, generally a great deal of the body. It also involves the mind, sometimes the heart, sometimes the spirit.

 

Most of our communication is sub-conscious and reactive.

We say, we do, we reply out of a pattern, something that we know, something we feel safe with, regardless of the outcome more times than not. We do what we do.

 

Most of our sex is sub-conscious and reactive.

We do what we do.

It works, or it doesn’t, to whatever degree it works, it’s what we know, it feels safe, it’s our comfort zone.

 

The answers that we give are generally reflex, cause and effect, push a button, we generally know what the result will be. And we generally don’t go beyond the range of our comfort zone.

 

Conscious communication is a response rather than a reaction.

It has possibilities, sometimes limitless possibilities.

Consciousness brings more of ourselves, our abilities to the communication. This allows us to see more, hear more, feel more, think more, touch more…

And combine these in endless combinations of possibilities.

 

Conscious love-making is a response rather than a reaction.

It’s not simply an arousal at the thought of sex. It’s not a pattern that we’re following because that’s what we do.

 

As we bring more of ourselves to love-making and see it as a communication, we begin to ask some fascinating questions.

 

What is the purpose of the love-making as a communication? This on it’s own is fascinating as it takes us to the heart of why we’re having sex?

Is it because we’re expected to, does it keep the peace, we’re in a relationship so it’s part of that, we’re turned on, we want the release, we’re dominating someone, submitting to someone, punishing someone, it helps us sleep…

Or it’s an act of love, of tenderness, of caring, of exploring…

Or it’s healing, transforming, a spiritual experience…

 

When we look at this we see what we bring to the experience, where in ourselves do we come from, what aspects, what dimensions are we bringing to the moment.

 

In order to have a deeper love-making communication, a more satisfying communication we need to be conscious of where we are, who we are. And to choose what we share. We need to be vulnerable as we need to reveal ourselves, give somebody the space to reveal their self, and see what they’re showing us.

We need to listen differently, with our ears, with our hearts, with our bodies. In this space what we hear, and what we say, has different meaning, often it’s a whole new language.

 

There is no absolute in this space as there are no limits.

There is no simple cause and effect in this space, there are possibilities.

There are no set patterns, there is freedom and flow.

 

Conscious love-making as an act of communication ultimately involves every aspect of our being. It’s space that allows us the fullest expression of who we are, without judgement, yet with awareness.

This conversation, this dialogue changes us, almost constantly. No experience is the same twice.

 

We see the true nature of life, all is change, all is flow.

And we come closer to living as an expression of this.

 

There is no fear in this, only peace. Fear, and all it breeds comes from being disconnected. In this deep communication with another, we create a web of connection based in a deep sense of knowing. Knowing that we are a part of life, of all that is. The deeper we go into conscious love-making communication, the deeper we go into communion.

Then our love-making becomes communion, a sacred communion with ourselves, with another, with the highest we are, with the source.

 

And we take this, more and more, into all the communication we share in every part of life.

I know what’s inside of you, I’ve seen it.

We dare to stretch beyond belief and limitation.

We dare to create, in so many ways. Knowing that the act of creation, the possibilities that it gives birth to, has more meaning than the end.

We dare to step beyond the boundaries of belief, knowing that we are one with the abyss.

We dare to take fear with us as we choose to venture regardless, knowing that to not is death of the spirit.

We dare to speak our truth, in acts of creation. They burn within us to be released, we let them be free for ourselves.

And we dare to be silent as you look upon them in laughter or scorn.

We dare to be open of heart. To hurt. And to give again.

We dare to love. With fire and passion. With fullness of body, heart, mind, spirit.

And we dare to talk of Spirit. As if we know. For we do.

And we dare to accept, in silent knowing, that we are joined to the force of life. That there is more connection than separation.

We dare to build bridges rather than destroy them.

We dare to connect, to share, to complement, to add, to expand.

We dare to manifest the qualities of God, of Goddess, of Source, of Consciousness. Not in dogma, but in life.

For to not do so is to not be that which we are.

Will you put that in English for those of us who don’t speak Sexual?

 

Sexual is its own language.

It goes way beyond the words, which are important, the Real words.

Because more people speak Euphemism than Sexual. As in ‘they slept together, he slept with me, I slept her, him, them…’

As far as I understand it, and I’ve had a little experience in this, sleeping and sex are different activities. Very Different.

 

When we use language that’s not Sexual, it’s so difficult, sometimes impossible, to talk about the issues and problems we have.  And communication is possibly 80% pf solving the problems.

 

Problems

Before we even get to having the problems, how do we expect to teach our children Effectively about sex if we can’t teach them to speak Sexual?

This is not just about the words; it’s a culture that allows for open, honest, non-judgmental sex education and understanding.

It needs to be as normal as talking about groceries, movies and music, where it becomes a way of communicating that creates an awareness of us as sexual and sensual beings.

 

When we speak Sexual we own ourselves, we own our sexuality, and we take responsibility for our pleasure. It becomes an integral part of our self-definition, not something we take out of a box occasionally, use and lock away again.

 

Sex Words

Besides all the sex words for our genitals, c**k, p***y, d**k, c**t, t**s, we talk about ‘private place and down there’. You won’t find those terms in any anatomy book.

So we become separated from our bodies. Even more so when they tell us ‘don’t touch, it’s dirty, it’s nasty, you’re going to go blind, get sick…’

And the Sex Words become Dirty Words.

And we use f**k as a swear word.

It may be one of the most expressive words there is, being able to be used in so many contexts and ways, verb, noun, adjective and adverb.

It’s made an amazing leap from Sexual to English.

 

Good

So if Sex Words are Dirty, if Sex Organs are Dirty, how can sex be Good?

How can it be Fun, Exciting, Healing, Loving, Pleasurable, Spiritual, Empowering, Liberating, beautiful, Transformative, Creative, Magical, Ecstatic, Transcendent etc.

(These are all words that have come across from Sexual).

We’ve f****d-up, Big Time!

 

And then we’ve added a whole bunch of Real Swear Words to Sexual.

Dirty, Guilty, Shameful, Embarrassing, Fear, Perverse, Judgment, Wrong, Suppressed, Repressed…

 

Beauty

In truth, Sexual is a language of such beauty, such poetry.

It allows us to create and express the highest aspects of ourselves, the Holiest, the Most Sacred, the Most Blissful, and the Most Beautiful we are.

Sexual is the language of the Heart, the Soul expressed through the body.

 

And we all actually know how to speak Sexual, if we will but allow ourselves…

Expanded Orgasm

 

Expanded Orgasm is a principle and practice that has deep and far-reaching connections and possibilities.

 

These include not only heightened and expanded pleasure for men and women, but elements of Tantra, of healing, of intimacy and of spirituality.

 

Firstly this gives a totally different perspective on pleasure. This allows us to expand the definition and practice of pleasure.

Expanded Orgasm teaches you how a woman can be in an orgasmic state for over an hour and longer. This is vastly different to the 20 or 30 second orgasm we mostly experience.

For most women this idea is not only incredibly appealing but also fills them, and their partners with disbelief. The disbelief is mostly that this is impossible.

 

For men it offers the opportunity, among other things, to have multi-orgasmic experiences and orgasm without ejaculating. This radically changes most men’s understanding and experience of their sexuality.

We teach this in some form to almost everybody that we work with, and use it as a powerful healing tool.

On a purely physical level it’s effective in helping with issues such as inability to have orgasm, low libido, painful sex, premature ejaculation etc.

It enhances sexual communication and increases intimacy.

Because it works with sexual energy it helps remove sexual blockages quickly.

 

Expanded Orgasm and the energy it builds and makes available to us can be used as a vehicle to expanded states of consciousness and sexual meditation.

 

When we looked at the practice of this technique we came to see how possible it was for people to do this on their own, making the energy and pleasure available to people who’d like to experience this without a partner.

Magnificent Men

 

We have the honour and privilege of working with many men at the moment.

 

Some have begun a journey to learn more about sex, be better lovers, increase their sexual skills etc.

Some have begun a journey to improve their relationship, with or without their partner.

And some have begun a journey to explore their selves, their masculinity, their sexuality, their sensuality, their spirituality, their connection to the world and to the many aspects of themselves.

 

Whatever the reason that caused them to begin this journey, there is a point at which certain realisations come to awareness.

 

The first is that regardless of the relationship they’re in, the journey, at least in the beginning, and for a long while, is absolutely about them.

This is a huge understanding, as so much of our identity is connected to the presence of someone else.

 

The next, and this is so beautiful, something that sadly not many men get to know and experience, is the power of vulnerability.

The journey moves from the head, from thoughts, to the body, the home of feelings.

To feel requires vulnerability.

To feel anything.

As men, particularly in South Africa, we’re taught that part of being a man is not to show feelings.

We have them.

We often have absolutely no idea how to show feelings beyond anger and fear.

We have no role models to teach us to be comfortable with our emotions.

We have no place we’re comfortable with to express our deep emotions, our hopes, dreams, fears and insecurities.

 

So we armour ourselves.

Walls, masks, roles, titles…

We close ourselves off.

We don’t share ourselves.

 

And we don’t give our partner’s the opportunity to fully express themselves.

Because with all the armouring we don’t know how to let someone in to see our depths.

And we don’t know how to receive.

So as we block ourselves, we block them.

And none of us can be complete, within ourselves and within each other.

 

And as we sit and look into each other’s eyes, as we touch bodies, as we sink into beings beyond the skin, as we peel away the layers that bring feelings to the surface, we see the vulnerability come to the surface.

Sometimes with trepidation, as if we were greeting a stranger, one we knew once.

Then as the recognition grows, as the comfort increases, the power grows.

And the gifts flow.

Intimacy, deep connection, a place to communicate in truth, to share, to listen, to talk, to feel, to be.

 

And we begin to find a new definition of what it means to be a man.

One that we create anew each day.

One that grows with us, as we grow.

One that allows us to be more, to touch more of ourselves, share more of that.

 

We speak a new language, words have different meanings.

Words that are generally reserved for women, beautiful. We become beautiful men. Loving, tender, warm, soft.

 

We don’t lose the other aspects of our masculinity. We enlarge on them.

 

And then words that are taboo come to our awareness.

We are comfortable with the idea of the Goddess.

How comfortable can we become with allowing the qualities of a God to come through us, to be manifest in our lives?

 

This is a journey for a warrior, for a man of courage, a journey through the fire, a journey to the depths and heights of who we are, of who we can be.
